libmpeg2-4-dev software package provides libmpeg2 development libraries and headers, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libmpeg2-4-dev
libmpeg2-4-dev is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libmpeg2-4-dev package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libmpeg2-4-dev *
You will get with libmpeg2-4-dev package name, version, architecture and description in a table
